Donations

As you may know, breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death for all women, and the leading cause of death in women between the ages of 40 and 55. Both its cause and its cure remain undiscovered. Statistics show that 1 in 7 women in the New England area will get breast cancer. We started the Just 'Cause Walk because we wanted to do something big -something that would challenge us. Walking 20 miles a day for 3 days is our challenge and we are hoping that you will partner with us in this effort. On May 20, 21, and 22nd, 2011, a dedicated group of people will walk in the 9th Just 'Cause Breast Cancer Walk. Unlike most of the more familiar charitable walks, we give 100%*of the money raised to breast cancer organizations! Any administrative fees and walker expenses are paid out of pocket by the walkers and the walker volunteers.

Last year’s Just ’Cause walk brought the total raised over the past walks to very close to $1 million dollars. Imagine! This year, with your help, we will break that mark. One million dollars donated to Just ‘Cause which equals one million dollars  donated to two breast cancer organizations. The two targeted recipients of the donations of the Just 'Cause walk will continue to be the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden in Harvard, MA and the Massachusetts General Hospital with the funds earmarked for the Gillette Center for the Gillette Center for Women's Cancers. Tax-free contributions can be made out to "Just 'Cause", a 501c3 organization. Remember that your employers will often match your contributions.
